Next Wednesday, 18 October 2017, at 17:00, in the training room of the Salamanca Bar Association, the event “Dissolution of international marriages”, delivered by our member of the Bar, Ms Arantxa Cagigal Casquero, will take place.
We will seek to address the problems that arise when there is an international element in a marriage or a parent-child relationship, in order to offer useful answers for judicial or out-of-court proceedings.
The preliminary programme of the event is as follows:
- Jurisdiction through the application of the various grounds provided in the European Regulations and in the Spanish Judiciary Act (LOPJ).
- Applicable law under the EU Regulation, international or bilateral Conventions.
- Measures regarding children in common: maintenance and contact.
- Matrimonial property regimes.
- Taking of evidence, service of documents, translation of documents, and procedural steps in the EU and in other countries through letters rogatory.
- Court and notarial proceedings by mutual agreement.
- Recognition and enforcement of judgments; and exequatur.
