Salamanca hosts this Friday the first conferences on Succession and Estate Law organised by the firm specialised in this field, Aranzazú Abogados, with the participation of its lawyers and renowned speakers such as Ana Belén Zaera or Francisco Mellado. The presence of the journalist Fernando Ónega had been announced, but other commitments have finally prevented him from attending. The event will be moderated by Arantxa Cagigal, director of Aranzazú Abogados.
The firm Aranzazú Abogados has its main office in the city of Salamanca and its team shares an education at our prestigious University of Salamanca and the spreading of its spirit throughout the world. The firm has offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Lyon and Montpellier, as well as collaborators in the United States, Italy, Portugal, Argentina and Venezuela.
The philosophy and working method of Aranzazú Abogados is based on personalised client attention and continuing education, for which it relies on professionals who teach Law, who endorse its services while guaranteeing the best result in the field practised at this firm.
Likewise, because the professionals who are members of the firm are based in different countries, the obstacles inherent to different languages, legal systems and administrations are overcome, so that legal matters are resolved efficiently and transparently, since constant contact with the client and keeping them informed to guarantee the successful outcome of the case is a value of this firm.
More about Succession and Estate Law
The concept of estate is known to everyone, as it refers to the set of assets of a natural or legal person. The management and transfer of those assets is a process that requires specialised advice, in order to guarantee their unity and who we want to hold them.
An estate always has a holder, and if the aim is to transfer it during one’s lifetime, it is absolutely essential to consider the purpose of the transfer and how to carry it out without unnecessary charges. Advice in civil and commercial matters is essential for the transaction to be successful, whether we want to buy, sell, donate, assign, form partnerships or give a legal form to our assets by setting up companies. In particular, the transfer of assets on death is a very delicate matter, since it affects the basic social structure, the family, and the way the succession is resolved is essential to safeguard that estate and social peace.
Resolving a succession requires specialised know-how, especially when assets are scattered even in other countries, with heirs who may reside in other places or countries, and with the difficulties inherent to different nationalities, for example. In addition, if the estate is of some significance, one must be responsible in avoiding high taxation on the heirs. Resolving the succession of the estate will avoid problems in future generations, and based on our proven experience, we guarantee that the inheritance will be settled with guarantees of continuity of the estate, avoiding the discord typical of families, and paying the lowest possible amount of taxes thanks to the advice of the firm’s collaborators and consultants: tax inspectors, university professors of tax law, notaries and economists.
Objectives
The purpose of this conference is therefore to highlight the legal spirit of the transfer of assets and to discuss it among professionals and people interested in the subject. All of this led by a firm committed to its clients and to society, offering training on the matter to professionals and collaborators in estate matters. “We cannot forget the importance of making a good will, of organising the well-being of our elderly relatives, and of ensuring that the assets they accumulate throughout their lives are not lost through lack of foresight when facing the situations typical of old age. The lawyers of this firm are advocates of any mediation between relatives, so as not to perpetuate generational conflicts; however, if at some point any out-of-court solution is unviable, we are backed by 20 years of judicial experience and the corresponding Court will be approached to guarantee our clients’ rights”, they state.
The law firm that begins this training and working venture is at the disposal of any natural or legal person at the firm’s main office in Salamanca, directed by Arantxa Cagigal Casquero and managed by José Antonio Bernardo, at Plaza del Mercado nº 12, 2º B, and on the website www.aranzazu-abogados.com, and has a team of lawyers in Madrid, led by Héctor Hinojal Neila, specialist in Civil Law; in Barcelona, led by Pedro del Barco Rodrigo, expert in Commercial and Company Law, collaborator with various Franco-Spanish Chambers of Commerce; in Paris, Nathalie Pérez Cartier, specialist in Civil Law and Private International Law; in Lyon, led by the lawyer Florencia Mariscal León, expert in Business Law and International Arbitration, and by the Accounting Expertise, Isabel Berenguer; and in Montpellier, Paola Graffet Tobon, director of GT Avocats, specialist in Civil and Commercial Law.
This firm has highly qualified external consultants, such as economists, tax inspectors, university professors from the University of Salamanca, translators, experts and notaries.
